So I've tried a few different pizza crust recipes, including the knock off for Pizza Hut (which I figure it can't be because that calls for dry milk and Hailey was allergic to it- but not Pizza Huts real pizza).
What you'll need:
5 cups flour
1 TBLspoon honey (trust me)
2 tsp salt
1 TBLpoon yeast
2TBLspoon oil
1 3/4- 2 cups water
Combine yeast to warm water (at 110-115 degrees). Add a pinch of sugar to help it activate. Set aside. Add all the dry ingredients to the mixer, turn on. Add honey, oil and yeast/water (when ready) mix for 2- 3 minutes. You may have to knead the rest by hand.
From here we decided to experiment.
We took most of it into a greased bowl and I took a small portion of the dough and rolled it out into a 9 inch cake pan (like they say you should do for Pizza hut) and sprayed the crust with butter oil spray also. We let them rise for 30 minutes.
Then we added toppings. I rolled out a big piece of dough onto a butter sprayed/corn meal pizza pan with air holes into it. We added Calssiso (new!) pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni and half olive.
The girls got the small pizza with cheese and olive
and I made a braided calzone
We put them in the oven at 450 degrees and baked them for 6 minutes, before I pulled them out and brushed the crust with butter and sprinkled a little garlic salt on the edges.
Then we cooked them for another 6 minutes.
